The Day After

We spent the day just relaxing. We folded the hurricane shutters, and wouldn't you know we had some bad rain this afternoon.
Water came in the window on the ledge in the back of the house. I think it is because we are all open to the golf course and
the rain hits the window at just the right angle.

Heard from Bran and it sounds like they are having a super time. I am so happy. I think she really needed to get away.

THEY BLEW IT!!!!

The weather forecasters blew it big time. Not only did we not get a hurricane, not even a tropical storm. It is only a tropical
depression. I haven't seen any heavy rain or strong winds, unless it isn't here yet. Not to worry, there is another one about a week away.

Doctors are closed, schools, and government offices all shut down all in preparation for the one that didn't come. I only hope
that next time people won't be lax and not listen to weather forecasts and prepare.

We're Waiting!!!!

After protecting the house with the shutters, takeing everything in from both patios, there is nothing left to do but sit and
wait. Every network has hurricane news continueously. Nothing like a little hype to get everyone in a panic and rushing
around. So far it just seems like a Tropical Storm. It is about 200 miles away from us right now. Everything has closed by
now. The drugstore and doctor offices closed around noon or so. They expect it around 8AM tomorrow morning. At least
it won't sneak in during the middle of the night like they usually do.

All we do now is wait, since the house is secured.

Will update tomorrow.

Ernesto is coming!!!!!!!!

This is one visitor I could do without. The Gov. Already declared a State of Emergency and some Watches are already in
effect. They started evacuating guests from Key West. There isn't much we have to do. Our shutters are already up and
all we have to close them like an accordion. Eric went to get guess for the generator so we will have power to cook, lights,
a/c, and most important television. Hopefully it won't be to bad or miss us completely. It looks like it is going up the center
of the state, so all will be affected one way or another.

Will keep you opdated.

Florida Living

Living in Florida has lots of advangages. We have lovely weather all year long, or do we? Every summer we have the threat
of a hurricane hanging over us. This is the case today. Hurricane Ernesto is lurking out there and supposed to go up the
center of the state. We'll know by tomorrow if we will get it or not. They are so unpredictable. It is still better than fighting
below 0 temps. and blizzards during the winter. I guess there is no one place that is perfect 100% of the time. We just had
hurricane shutters installed and we have a generator if we lose power. So hopefully we will have the comforts of home. Last
year our area lost power for over 3 weeks. I could not imagine being without power all that time.

Will keep you updated.

Restful Day

Today was a nice peaceful and restful day. Eric needed to get some serious writing done as we have been doing alot of
running around. I surfed the net, watched some t.v. and got caught up with what has been going on with some friends.
We did take time out for a lovely dinner at Outback Steakhouse. I did great on my diet. I chose chop chop salad, Prime Rib
and steamed veggies instead of a starch. It was a lovely dinner. It is nice to go out alone sometimes, although I do normally
believe in the more the merrier theory.

Searching For The Best Doctor

Well I finally started the interviewing process for an Orthopedic Surgeon to do my other hip. Met with a Dr. Kevin Shrock In Ft. Lauderdale. He works out of
Broward General Hospital where Brandi was born. Haven't been there since bringing her home from the
hospital. He seemed very impressive. He spent over 1/2 hour talking and explaining everything from
my problem to the procedure he will be doing. He even spent more time after several x-rays were taken.
He operated on my sister-in-law and did a wonderful job on her, and also on her family doctor. I guess
that makes him a doctor's doctor.

He still is the running, but I still want to get 2 more opinions. I will keep you posted.

Car Dealerships

We picked up our car today from a dealer's service dept.. We were told they fixed the problems and we were on our way.
The only problem was that we didn't get but a block away before we had a diffferent problem. Strange, right? We brought the
car back and sure enough there was a different problem. It makes me wonder if they don't make more work for themselves,
or is it just coincidence.

Car Trouble

It is pretty sad when your security system won't let you drive your own car. They say we have a problem with some module
and it's not reading our key. It will probably cost more to fix then a new car!!! LOL!!! When we didn't have these fancy
systems in the cars, we just put our key in the ignition and not worry whether the computer read the key or not. Oh the
wonders of modern technology.

We got the verdict on the car. We need a new computer module to the tune of $1,000. Welcome to the world of electronics.

Happy Birthday Matt

Today is my son-in-law Matt's birthday. Happy Birthday Matt and many more happy and healthy ones. May all your wishes
come true. We love you very much.
