I am In Shock!!!!!

I watched the finale of Duets last night. I was totally shocked. I was so sure that Lucy or Hal would win. I could not have been
so wrong. Alfonso Rebiero won. I guess I just can't just singing. My opinion could have been tainted by the fact that I just
don't like Alfonso from all the years he played Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel Aire.

I hate to admit it, but I actually enjoyed the show!!!!! Can we say Geek or what?

Duets

Tonight is the big finale. It is down to Lucy Lawless, Hal Sparks and alfonso Ribiero. I really hope Lucy wins. She has been
my favorite all along. Hal isn't bad, I'm just not into his type of music. I am shocked that Alfonso has lasted all the way
through. The winner gets to donate their winnings to their favorite charity, which is a great thing. We'll see who wins tonight.

In other news, I just found out that the hip replacement I had last summer has to be fixed. This came as a big shock. I will
have it down when I come back from Chicago. Nothing is stopping me from this trip. I am so looking forward to it. This
time we willbe looking at it with the possibility of relocating there. We are both soo excited about the thought of it. We would
get to see Bran and matt more than once or twice a year. I miss them soo much.

Chicago Here We Come

I am getting so excited. In just 3 weeks I will be in Chicago visiting my precious daughter and adorable son in law. I can
hardly wait. It will be a short visit, but quality is what really counts. It has been a long time since I saw Bran on stage, and I
really miss it. I am glad that we will get to see her opening night.

We are also going to check out some rentals as we both miss the kids sooo much. I would want to rent only to make sure that
I can manage the winter. I know the heat here is starting to get to me. You know the ole saying, "If Mohammad won't come
to the Mountain, then the mountain goes to Mohammad".

Will keep you posted as we get closer and really start counting down the days.

Duets

Last night was a surprise. I expected Cheech to go, but not Jai. I think the winner will be either Lucy Lawless or Hal Sparks.
I don't think it will be Alfonso. I am betting on Lucy Lawless as the winner.

Got up this morning and decided that we needed to go out and have brunch at the I HOP. It was soo good, but the lousy
feeling I get in the morning was still there. I am just going to take it easy until tonight.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Wishing all my friends and family a happy and healthy New Year. this is the first year that no one is getting together. Last
year my kids came down and I had my family over. It was wonderful. It was right after my hip replacement and it made it
even more special, since I felt so good. My brother-in -law is conducting services, my kids are up North and none of my
friends feel like doing anything. I will still make a holiday dinner for us. Right now I don't feel like doing anything, but later
I will get the urge.

Have a wonderful holiday.

Duets

cheech finally got kicked off last week. He is funny, but a lousy singer. I think the last 3 will be Lucy, Jai,
and Hal. I think this week Carly will go. She is adorable, but needs training. I don't think Alfonso will make
it to the very end. He needs to stick to acting. I really enjoy the show.

Personalty DNA Test

I took the personalty test that Karen had posted on her blog. I found out that I am a benevolent architect. I would never have
thought of myself as such. I wonder who sits and thinks of these thing. I do love people, listen to their problems and even
offer advice, if that is what they are looking for.

Chi Town Here We Come

We finally did it. We booked our flight and hotel room. we are going to see Bran's show "Mortified". I can hardly wait. I love
seeing her on stage. It makes me feel sooo good to see her up there. She is such a ham and loves the attention. I think
she was born to be on stage. Then first time I saw her act was as "The Little Red Hen" at the ripe old age of 5. She absolutely
stole the show. I was so proud, I thought I would bust. I get that same feeling each time I see her on stage. I am just so proud
of her in general. Not only is she my child, but my best friend. What more can a Mom say. Will take plenty of pictures and
of course a video, if allowed.

Duets

I was so surprised that Lea thompson got booted off. I thought for sure that Alfonso or Cheech would go. I guess there is
no way of predicting. Right now my favorite is Lucy Lawless, aka Zena Warrior Princess. Carly Patterson, a former gold medal
winner isn't too bad, but has a long way to go. she is cute and adorable.

I guess we will have to wach next Thursday and Friday.

Wayne Brady's New Show "Duets"

I thought I would only get hooked on Idol. Well, they got me again. First I love Wayne Brady, and I love shows where stars
compete. Last week the wrestler got the boot, I hope Alfonso goes tonight. I never thought he could sing, even when he
tried on Fresh Prince. I love Jai, Lucy and Lea.

My other favorite is Dancing With the Stars which airs Tuesday. I guess they will keep me out of trouble at least 2 nights.

I'll let you know who gets booted of tonight.

Let me know if you see it.

enjoy

Happy Wednesday

I was supposed to go to Miami today to see a doctor, but cancelled becauseof all the horrible rain we have been having. It
never rained up here, but Miami got dumped on. it was a good call.

We hung around the house today. Eric needs to work on his book, and I just did some odds and ends. we did go out for
dinner by ourselves. We went to the outback and had some yummies. I had the grilled shrimp and veggies, which is good
for my diet, and Eric had prime rib. It was delicious after the second try. The first time my dinner came out cold and Eric's
steak was overcooked. They were wonderful about it. It was absolutely mouth watering the second time.

After dinner we came back to the housenand Eric had to write more and I went on the computer and watched TV. all in all
a good day.

Happy Day After Labor Day

No BBQ's today. The rains came early this afternoon, around 3 or so. There was a break in the rain around 5 so everyone
rushed to eat out. We had dinner at my favorite sports bar, Gator'sDockside. They have the most delicious chicken drummetts,
which you can get fried or grilled. I get them grilled with honey mustard. They are the best. At dinner time I needed a break
from Jerry Lewis. They had it on in the restaurant, but we didn't pay much attention to it. It felt good to get out after the bad
weather we had all weekend.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, Today is life back to normal.

Happy Labor Day Weekend

I just want to wish everyone a happy and safe Labor Day. I doubt if there will be too many bbq's down here since it pours
every afternoon from about 3-5.

We are spending this afternoon with family. They are joining us for some Italian food at the Olive Garden and then we will be
coming back to the house for a little visit. Tomorrow I am not sure of. I would not mind staying in and watching Jerry Lewis.

Whatever you are doing be safe and enjoy.

Rain Rain Go Away

What lousy weather we have been having. We didn't even get out of the house since "Tropical Storm Ernesto". I think today
was the worst I have seen without it being a hurricane. The wind was so loud that it made me get up and check out the
patio. It was full of water. The wind was really driving it heavy. After about an hour or so we were able to go out for
dinner. Finally!!!! While we were eating, another round came through, but only lasted a few minutes. I am not to sure if
bbq's are in the forecast. we have plans to go out to eat, so I am not worried.

Have a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.
